Best Liquid Matte Lipsticks – My own picks!
I am a huge fan of matte lipsticks If I haven’t mentioned that yet on my previous posts, in general, I am just in love with lipsticks but liquid mattes are my favorite ones. Every time I go makeup shopping, my first look would be liquid lipsticks from a variety of brands, and these are my favorites so far. I haven’t tried out other brands yet aside from the ones on this list, but if I do, I will update this list for sure!
Too Faced Melted Matte ($21)
There are so many color choices to choose from, but my choice of shade was the Sell Out. What I like about this lipstick is the formula, it is so creamy when you apply it but it does not leave a sticky feeling like other liquid lipstick does. The formula is long lasting however it isn’t as smudge proof as other liquid mattes. I still want to purchase other shades, but if you are on a tan/darker skin tone the Sell Out shade is a good choice.
I took a photo below to show you guys how does it look on me, I also made a kiss mark on my hand to show you the smudge effect it did. 😉
Stila Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick ($22)
This is one of the best samples I received from one of my Sephora playbox a few months ago, but for some unfortunate reason, my purse got stolen and the sample size lipstick was inside it. 🙁 I think I had the shade angelo, and I was in love with that shade! I might be purchasing the lipstick again, and will provide you in depth reviews about it.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream ($6)
NYX was one of the first liquid lipstick I owned and loved, I had the shade Copenhagen and my friends loved how it looked on me. They loved it so much that they always borrowed it and ended up finishing the tube in less than a month. It glides on smoothly when you apply it on your lips, however, doesn’t dry fast. It is not kissed proof and will definitely leave a mark when you kissed somebody while wearing this lipstick 🙂 It still made it to this list because of the price and the creamy formula. Plus, it’s one of the first matte lipstick I owned.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip ($6)
OMG, of course, colourpop will be on this list! I love their ultra matte lipsticks so much that I have four shades of them in my vanity kit (5, if I didn’t lose the other one). The formula is said to be a dupe of the famous Kylie lip kits but in a cheaper way. For six bucks, you will not regret owning them! The formula is very rich, pigmented, smooth and long lasting. Colourpop claimed it to be 100% kiss-proof, but I’d say only 98% in my opinion. It still transfers a little bit on my skin after It dried out. See below for reference 😉
Kylie Lip Kits ($27)
One kit I bought so far from Kylie cosmetics is her in love with the koko collection. However, before I joined the bandwagon I already tried one of her lip kit in Mary Jo K from my friend. The first time I tried her lipkit, I can say that the formula was really long lasting! That made me a decision to purchase one for myself but I just couldn’t justify the price at that time. Then, she dropped her koko k collection which is a good deal for me. 😛 See my reviews and swatches about the in love with the koko collection here.
Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick ($24)
Again, this is one of the lipstick samples I received in my Sephora playbox and this sample was also inside my purse that got stolen. I had the shade Out Loud which is a deep orange shade, but really looks good when you put it on. It was one of my favorites shades, but I haven’t bought the full sized yet as I couldn’t justify its price at the moment. I also loved the tear drop applicator as it dispenses only the right amount of product you need, plus the pointed tip helps out in lining your lips.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20)
I recently got a sample size from my June Sephora Playbox and they sent me the shade K Dub which is a warm purple shade. This is my first Kat Von D product, and I loved it! It glides on like a gloss when you apply it, but dries faster than other liquid lipstick I tried. This I say is a %100 kiss proof as well, I tried putting on a kiss mark on my arm but nothing transferred! It was amazing! The formula is so light weight that you can barely feel it on your lips all day long. It’s also highly pigmented that you don’t need a second coat to see the true colors on your lips.
This is by far the lipsticks that made the cut on this list. Do you have other liquid matte lipsticks that you tried and is not on this list? If so, please let me know in the comments section below so I can go try it out!
